Cert. 18 Length: 80 mins. Available on: Seduction Cinema, SC 8001 Price: £14.99 Director: John P. Fedele Starring: Tammy Parks, Tina Krause With: Michael Thomas, John P. Fedele, Suzanne Lenore, Roxanne Michaels, Jacob Bogert, John Link Plot: An erotic-horror spoof of ''Titanic''. In the year 2000, a new Titanic sets sail, flawed by having part of the hull made of aluminium and destined for even more disaster with a lesbian vampire on board. Comments: This is a 'B Movie' and as such should not be compared to the multi-million dollar epic which it parodies. That said, it is witty and shot on video very well. The acting is above what you'd expect of a typical 'B movie', the script is well-written, and the comedy situations for the most part work. A great many jokes are made at the expense of the real "Titanic" movie including a character named 'Sir Leonardo of Dicaprio' and a windscreen smearing moment which almost escaped me due to the action which was going on at the time. There's also a great moment at the end involving a similarly named character to the 'unsinkable Molly Brown' which I won't spoil for you here. I am sure there are a great many other subtle jokes there too. The main story, however, throws the Titanic spoof out of the window. The sinking of this obviously doomed 'TITanic' (as it should be pronounced) is only as a background to many erotic scenes as a lesbian Vampiress played by Tammy Parks seduces Tina Krause (the 'Kate Winslet' role). Tina Krause's character is only too willing for this seduction as her drunken rock-star boyfriend doesn't pay her enough attention (something which is probably the most unbelievable part of the movie!). The boyfriend has one of the worst mock-English accents since Dick Van Dyke though it does help the comedy. When at one point, he is asked to perform a song on stage, there follows one of the funniest rock parodies ever.As far as the erotic action goes, there's enough to please even the most horny teenager but a real criticism is that much more happens to the other victims of Tammy Parks' vampire than actually happens to Tina Krause in the denouement. Tammy Parks is the star but Tina Krause does tend to steal the show out from under her (to mix a few metaphors) due to some severely cute expressions and a natural talent for comedy which the others in the film struggle to achieve. Summing up then, it's a 'B movie', it's funny, it's got naked lesbian vampires in it... get some beer, pizza and friends in, and have yourself a Titanic party! Dr Blood's rating: 5/10 |
