ChrisOwens says "I am playing special agent Jeffrey Spender. He is a new guy. He falls between Mulder and Scully. It has been revealed that his father is kind of an evil character on the show."

ChrisOwens says "He certainly is cool. He is also a good basketball player too. I watched him shoot hoops at Vancouver and he is very good."

guest15810 asks "I am a big fan. Do you have a fan club you endorse?"

ChrisOwens says "I have recently purchased a computer and I found a couple of neat sites. I found a spender the defender site. Sure."

Dan_K asks "Do you believe in UFO's?"

ChrisOwens says "There has to be stuff out there. There is no question about it. There has to be extra terrestrials. I live in L.A."

XspeedoFile asks "How did you get discovered?"

ChrisOwens says "Discovered for X-Files. I went in for an audition to play the cigarette smoking younger man. I have been around for 15 years up in Canada doing movies, etc."

Sid asks "How'd you get started in acting?"

ChrisOwens says "That is from the childhood thing. Performing in school and doing community theatre. Realizing it was something I was drawn to.. I got hired for tv work when I was 19. Off and on, I've been doing it ever since."

guest15810 asks "Is there a downside to fame? If so what is it?"

ChrisOwens says "I have the feeling there probably is a number of downsides to fame. I haven't experienced them yet. So far things have been good. I have struck the balance. I don't know what Dave and Gillian have experienced...For me, it is nice to get some recognition. I had never been to Canada before so it was awhole new experience."

Sid asks "do you like to go on location or do you prefer to work on a sound stage?"

ChrisOwens says "I like them both. Location is always exciting. For next week's episode we shot on the Queen Mary in Long Beach. We got to stay overnight. It was cool."

Speed_Racer asks "what do you go through in order to get your character to 'come out' of you?"

ChrisOwens says "I focus on the script, on the writing and then, like music, you try to know your dialogue and the rules and once the ball is in play, go with the flow. The best thing to do is focus your attention on what you are doing."

guest15812 asks "Do you get to keep the clothes you wear in the show?"

ChrisOwens says "There are some shows I have been on, a movie of the week, they will offer you the clothes for 1/2 price but on X-Files they tend to keep them so they can reuse them. Hopefully I will be in them."

Dan_K asks "Do you think our Government conspires against us as citizens?"

ChrisOwens says "One has to wonder. Sometimes, I think departments do. I don't know if you have seen The Panama Invasion, it is a fascinating piece. You see the government at work...in that sense there are sort of conspiratorial...I bought a copy, it was banned in the states for a while and then I think it won an Oscar."

PrestoQuesto asks "do you believe in psychic phenomenon?"

ChrisOwens says "I certainly believe, because I have seen it in action, things that happen beyond immediate thought. So, yes. There is always more going on than we can articulate. Computer Graphics."

ChrisOwens says "At least with an animal or kid you have something living there."

PrestoQuesto asks "have you ever seen a ghost?"

ChrisOwens says "I did see my father turn very pale one night but....our dog bit him...that can happen. But I have to say no. Not yet. I am hoping."

PrestoQuesto asks "have you ever had an out of body experience?"

ChrisOwens says "Not in the sense of waking up and seeing yourself in bed but I think I have experienced it in bits and pieces during meditating or a calm state."

XspeedoFile asks "have you ever been on Broadway?"

ChrisOwens says "No, I have walked up and down it. It is great."

XspeedoFile asks "Do you look for certain things in the roles that you choose/"

ChrisOwens says "For the most part, the rules choose me. In theatre where I would turn things down, maybe, because I might not get paid and runs could be long. I think what I look for is good writing. If you have good writing and actors who are open, that is all you can ask for."

ChrisOwens says "I think to me, when I watch a movie, I respond to the humanity of the characters, watching them struggle, their ambiguity. I just got a script for the new one we are doing. It is always exciting. I haven't read it yet, I just opened the envelope. It is called Two Fathers. It is written by Chris Carter and...."

Sid asks "Do you get along well with the cast of Xfiles?"

ChrisOwens says "Absolutely. We have a pretty good time. I hang out with Nick Lee quite a bit. We go out on the town."

SRT5 asks "CHRIS I LOVE THE SHOW X FILES MY QS IS WHY THERE IS NO ROMANCE BETWEEN MULDER AND SCULLY"

ChrisOwens says "Mulder and Scully have a platonic relationship and I think they love and respect each other as friends. I think there are sparks between them sometimes but i don't think it will go to physical interaction. I think they maintain that kind of tension and they have that love and respect as friends. It is good to see. it is unusual. I haven't done one yet. Sure, I will try anything once."

Apollonius asks "Has any one asked you to be in a Xena or Hercules episode? If they did, would you do it?"

ChrisOwens says "I think I would be wearing leather or suede or something."

Apollonius asks "Do you have any pets?"

ChrisOwens says "No, not at the present time. It is hard. Not nearly as much as some people."

Apollonius asks "Do you use a mobile phone a lot?"

ChrisOwens says "It is useful, more useful than i thought it would be. I thought it would be a pain iin the neck if you didn't want to be reached sometimes. You have to be careful who you give it to."

Apollonius asks "What is your most treasured possession?"

ChrisOwens says "A sense of humor."

XspeedoFile asks "When you have time to watch TV what do you watch?"

ChrisOwens says "I watched Larry Sanders when it was on. The Practice. I watch Law and Order. Charlie Rose. I like his stuff. Sports. I watch hockey for sure."

HSHost says "How long have you been playing hockey."

ChrisOwens says "Since I was a teenager."

Apollonius asks "Are you sentimental or are you a very rational person?"

ChrisOwens says "A bit of both. For sure. One can get sentimental about the strangest things. You can hear a sappy song and it still gets to you. Mark McGwire hits a homerun and I cry... The writing."

SRT5 asks "WHAT DO YOU THINK MAKES THE SHOW SO SPESSIAL"

ChrisOwens says "The fact that the show can go in so many directions and the way things are left dangling. The audience knows... Law and Order does that too."

Toodles2 asks "why do you like acting"

ChrisOwens says "Acting is a chance to play and use your imagination and get out of yourself. When you do that it is amazing where you can go. I am always surprised. That is why it reminds me of music or a sport."

HSHost says "You play the guitar?"

ChrisOwens says "I try. I play the blues. I love Miles Davis."

Dan_K asks "Do you ever tire of being in the public eye?"

ChrisOwens says "So far, I find it an interesting experience. I will have to see how things go along and how it changes. Right now, I have worked a long time so it is nice to enjoy it."

PrestoQuesto asks "If you could work opposite any actor or actress in Hollywood today, who would that be?"

ChrisOwens says "So many. It is a hard question. Of the top of my head, Robert Duvall. There are so many wonderful actors. Like I said, if you have good writing anyu one of those actors could set something on fire."

Dan_K asks "If you could do anything for a day what would it be?"

ChrisOwens says "Be a woman. What is that like for one day."

ChrisOwens says "I am asked that a lot. There are many I have seen but many I enjoy. The vampire one where they switch personalities. I tend to enjoy the quirky ones. Musings. Probably sushi."

Apollonius asks "What is your favorite food?"

ChrisOwens says "I will eat anything. If it is good, I am there."

Apollonius asks "Do you visit any internet sites regularly?"

ChrisOwens says "I have just started but I do have a few, I guess a sports thing. I have surfed around."

Toodles2 asks "where did you learn to act"

ChrisOwens says "On the street baby. You got to do lots of strange theatre where only 20 people come and you learn what works. Every time you get hired you learn something else."

HSHost says "Do you miss being on theatre."

ChrisOwens says "I sit around with friends and read plays. It is like a light workout."

Apollonius asks "What was the last book you read all the way through?"

ChrisOwens says "I just finished Richard Ford's "The Sports Writer" I am now going to read Notes from the Underground."

ChrisOwens says "Get on a good show. I don't know how to answer that."

ChrisOwens says "I don't know, curiosity."

ChrisOwens says "I don't tend to think of them as decade time slots but...horror movies, I like The Shining. I like it to be psychological. Sure, in some ways. Yeah. The Twilight Zone tended to...well no..."

ChrisOwens says "The Westside Story or A Chorus Line."

ChrisOwens says "Always a tough one. If you are on that desert island...It is Wings of Desire or Fanny and Alexander but you have to watch them over and over so get some you want to dig into."

Speed_Racer asks "How many dates do you wait before you start to 'Fool around'?"

ChrisOwens says "With her or myself? Laugh. Oh jeez."

Speed_Racer asks "What is your view on the Clinton-Lewinsky Melodrama?"

ChrisOwens says "Well, I don't find the President's sexual practices all that interesting. I would rather see what he is doing with the country. It was fun for a while but it is distracting from any real actions happening. It is strange that we are so captivated. It is endless."

ChrisOwens says "No, not specifically. I have done runs for breast cancer...that kind of thing. A little bit here and there."

ChrisOwens says "Sometimes I jot down little things but I always have a book or magazine by my side."

ChrisOwens says "Good actress. She is terrific in Wait Until Dark. She is very good."

Apollonius asks "Who do you think of as a great actor?"

ChrisOwens says "There are so many. It is an endless array of good actors out there. Robert Duvall blows my mind. Merryl Streep."

SRT5 asks "DO YOU THINK THE GOV WOULD TRY TO KEEP SOMETHING COVERED UP LIKE THEY DO IN THE SHOW"

ChrisOwens says "I have the feeling that you never get the full story. I am sure there are a lot of hidden files with hidden agendas attached."

ChrisOwens says "I listen to just about everything. Blues, classical, jazz. I bought Alanis Morrisettes latest. I have been listenign to Abbey Road. Variety is the spice of life especially with music."

SRT5 asks "DO YOU REMEBER A FUNNY MOMENT YOU HAD DURING A SHOOTING OF THE SHOW"

ChrisOwens says "There is always the odd little moment. David loves to add lines in..it is funny. We just kind of play back and forth. I can never think of anything specific but..."

SRT5 asks "DO YOU SEE THE WEB SITES ABOUT THE SHOW"

ChrisOwens says "I have surfed through some of the stuff. I think it is cool. I think it is great."

Apollonius asks "Are you anything like your X Files character, or is it all acting? Your character seems to be more emotional complex than the main stars"

ChrisOwens says "His journey kind of dictates what his emotional state is as it does for me. I just don't have to deal with Spender's heavy issues right now."

Speed_Racer asks "What is the most common question you get asked?"

ChrisOwens says "What are David and Gillian really like? Do you like L.A.? ARe you going to replace David Duchovny?"

Speed_Racer asks "What was your favorite costume for Halloween as a kid?"

ChrisOwens says "I went as this zombie ghoul and I had a good outfit with a long black cloak."

Sid asks "Do you prefer serious roles or comedic roles?"

ChrisOwens says "It is great if you can mix them up, find drama in comedy and comedy in drama."

ChrisOwens says "I suppose that spark, that love of life. Openess. A willingness to take chances"

ChrisOwens says "Right now I am seeing a wonderful lady. We have a great time. Right now we are doing the long distance thing which is a challenge but..."

Sid asks "What roles do you have coming up?"

ChrisOwens says "Right now, I am concentrating on X-Files but I hope to work on something during hiatus. You got any ideas?"

ChrisOwens says "My parents divorced. Although I don't know if that is weird. It is pretty common. I found it strange but you might be looking for weird like a ghost or something."

ChrisOwens says "I think the fact that you can't protect your loved ones. It is not something you can do and if you focus on that it is scary."

ChrisOwens says "I would be a starving writer. And a great bartender."

ChrisOwens says "Getting completely lost and not knowing where you are. A rare thing but these things happen. On stage it is challenging to get it back. Or, props that didn't work. Guns that were supposed to go off but didn't."

ChrisOwens says "Again, so hard. Diane Keaton. I think she is wonderful. It is tough. There are just so many."

ChrisOwens says "David is pretty funny. He is pretty funny. If I am not doing it already..."

ChrisOwens says "Sometimes if I am not in an episode I might have weeks off at a time but others I might work every day."

ChrisOwens says "Good question. There has to be somebody in there. It might come to me..Wylie Coyote on a good day."

Sid asks "how do you see the film biz changing in the next ten years?"

ChrisOwens says "I think, it seems to be getting more and more expensive and for me, I hope the story is the most important thing. The technology is always there but will the writing stay?"

Dan_K asks "What is the most negative part of being a star?"

ChrisOwens says "Funny, you either get charged twice as much or you get it for free."

ChrisOwens says "Chris Demerdi. Muhammed Ali. It is weird how the phone keeps doing that. It has a mind of its own."

ChrisOwens says "I don't know. Whatever is coming up. The next one. An X-Files movie would be fun. I would love to do that."

Apollonius asks "What do you find most attractive about Gillian Anderson? And least attractive?"

ChrisOwens says "There is really nothing I don't find attractive about her. She has a great sense of humor. She is bright and open, sincere and talented."

HSHost says "She sounds great."

ChrisOwens says "She is."

SRT5 asks "DO YOU READ THE FAN LETTERS AND WHAT WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THINK YOU EVER GOT FROM A FUN"

ChrisOwens says "Yeah, I read fan letters. The first one I got while working on X-Files was nice. It was simple and nice and just wanted to wish me luck for coming on board. It was very early on and it was nice to have someone kick it off."

Sid asks "what is something you wish people would ask you that they never do?"

ChrisOwens says "I like talking about just about anything. I am willing to go just about anywhere."

ChrisOwens says "Some guy wrote in on one of the e-mail shows that he really likes the ladies and since he likes them so much would it be possible for him to get a part on X-Files. I didn't know how to respond so I said I like the ladies too so come on down."

ChrisOwens says "Oh lord. My girlfriend. A finely stocked kitchen. Neverending supplies. My guitar."
