As he begins his investigation he becomes aware of a presence in the house which slowly but surely starts to wear him down... Comments:  Based on the novel by James Herbert (my favourite author), Haunted was originally written as a pilot for a BBC TV series. The follow up novel, ''The Ghosts of Sleathe'', is much more scary.This film has a lot of charm which is caused in the main by the presence of Kate Beckinsale. All the actors here do a damned fine job but the fire effects done using Quantel's awful Paintbox are badly used. Dr Blood's rating: 6/10  |
