MistressElvira says "Actually Elvira, of course, is not married. She's never been married, she's been tied down a time or two, but we won't get into detail ;) I, Cassandra, am married and have been married for 18 year s.. the Hollywood record!~"

MistressElvira says "If you're an actor in Hollywood, your marriage, each year counts for 7 years, dog years."

Sid asks "When did you become Mistress of the Dark?"

MistressElvira says "In 1981 in September. Not too .. let's see ... let me rephrase, on a local TV station .. a horror .. horror hosting a TV show, old bad movies. I'm all confused here, sorry! I've been talking for too long! aaaaahhhh! So, 1981, started Elvira here in Hollywood and went nationwide for a few years after that."

MistressElvira says "It sure does."

Jinxed asks "How did the Character Elvira come into being?"

MistressElvira says "I went on an audition .. I was an actress here in Hollywood and I heard about an audition for a local horrorhost to host a collection of schlocky movies. I was broke at the time and decided to go on the interview and after quite a while and several interviews I got the part and had to come up with a look and a name ..... with the help of some friends, I threw some things together and here I am."

MistressElvira says "Hard to say what Elvira is "of." In my 1989, in the movie, I set out that her mother was a sorceress and her father a mortal. So, she's partly metaphysical and partly regular .. stuck in the cracks somewhere. It's a hard explanation."

Sid asks "I heard you were a Groundling?"

MistressElvira says "Yeah, I was in for 4 years with Paul Reubens, Phil Hartman, Jon Lovitz, Lorraine Newman. All those people .. that's where I really started out and it was a great experience. I owe that experience .. my success to the Groundlings."

HSHost says "They're a great group of people .. I love to catch whatever I can there."

MistressElvira says "Yeah, they're on Melrose in Hollywood, been there for years with fantastic up and coming performers."

Apollonius asks "Ingrid Pitt named her boobs after Tom and Jerry, do you have nicknames for yours?"

MistressElvira says "I did have nicknames for mine, we called them "The Twins" during the shooting of the movie. One was Stacy, can't remember the other's name."

MistressElvira says "All the time. I'm using it tomorrow night for the grand re-opening premiere of The Exorcist which they're reissuing. I'll be at the Chinese Theatre tomorrow night for the unveiling of an animal rights campaign for PETA as well as for the movie with Linda Blair ... tomorrow night at 7pm."

Apollonius asks "Have you seen all the websites devoted to you (including mine.....Dr Blood's Video Vault)????"

MistressElvira says "Wow! Haven't seen that one . have to check it out. I have my own website .. elvira.com .. made it easy so you guys can type it with one hand."

MistressElvira says "Work, work, work, Knott's Scary Farm, the country's largest Halloween attraction .. singing and dancing every night .. 4 shows a night .. a few live feeds for internet and TV shows and it looks like I'll be on the HOward Stern show that night as Cassandra."

HSHost says "How was it?"

MistressElvira says "The scariest thing! Scary as hell! I didn't sleep for a week and he fulfilled all my nightmares!"

MistressElvira says "I have a movie out there I'm trying to sell now, some poeple interested, I wrote a few months ago .. "Elvira Vs. The Lesbian Vampires from Outer Space.""

MistressElvira says "Hopefully it'll be a theatre near you in the future .."

Kittykoot asks "will you be hosting anymore movies in the future?"

MistressElvira says "Having a problem with hosting movies. All the good bad movies that I like to get a hold of have been bought up by the big networks and studios and they're charging more money for them than you can pay and still make money in that situation. Almost all the local horror hosts have disappeared from various towns. It used to be every town had their local horror host but not anymore cause they can't get the movies."

HSHost says "Oh that's too bad! We wanna see you!"

MistressElvira says "I know!"

Apollonius asks "Who invented your slinky dress? Was it inspired by Morticia from the Addams Family?"

MistressElvira says "That probably had something to do with it, but my very best friend at the time, Robert Redding, who is now deceased unfortunately ... came up with the look. He based the hair on his idol, Ronnie Specter .. calls it a knowledge bump. And, he got the makeup from a Kabuki book and the dress he made as sexy as possible cause he knew that would sell the show. Obviously he went way over the edge."

Apollonius asks "What is your favorite food? Witches Brew?"

MistressElvira says "Well no ..."

MistressElvira says "Sounds good, as a matter of fact I'm drinking that right now. I'm actually a vegetarian, so my favorite foods are .. oh .. leaves, grass. I know I look like a maneater, but hate to tell you, I"m not."

Apollonius asks "How can I join your fan club, Elvira?.... I worship you..."

MistressElvira says "Ooh! Thank you. The best way to join it is to go online elvira.com .. and there's info there about the fan club, tons of merchandise, my image painted all over volkswagens and cars, people dressed up like me, and people with my image tattooed on their body parts .. really groovy, ultimate fans. So, you can sign up to join my fan club right on the net."

Sid asks "Why "Elvira"?"

MistressElvira says "That was picked right out of a coffee can. The day we were shooting the first show here on the local station in Hollywood we were going to call her "Vampira" but found out there was a character named that already. An actress who was in that brilliant film, "Planet 9 from Outer Space." So, here we were about to tape the show, so the crew wrote down the name and threw it in a can .. my choice was Cassandra, my own name. But, one wrote Elvira and I think it's cause that song from the Oak Ridge Boys was out ... and I think that inspired them. 30 minutes later we were going "Ladies and Gentleman, Elvira!""

UmbraWalker asks "What do you think of all the pictures and fakes of Elvira & Casandra on the internet?"

MistressElvira says "I'm sure they're talking about the nude photos .. all the Elvira stuff is total fakes. The Cassandra stuff is real, I modeled in my 20's and I was with Playboy models. They had a model agency, so I modeled for Playboy and Oui and those pics are all over the place. And, sometimes the Elvira head is stuck on the Cassandra body ... so fortunately, unfortunately they're out there! So, like Dr. Laura Schlessinger!"

HSHost says "Oh yeah I know!!!"

MistressElvira says "I finally came to the conclusion that every actress in the world has pics out there somewhere."

Apollonius asks "In England we only have your movie "Elvira Mistress of the Dark".... are there any plans to send your TV shows over here?"

MistressElvira says "No, unfortunately, those were made and the TV station that owned them went out of business .. so we can't get them. I did a pilot for CBS here in America and they own THAT pilot so we can't get the rights to that, probably it will never be seen, I have to work on new stuff."

MistressElvira says "i have two categories ... the bad ... "Planet 9 From Outer Space," the best worst movie ever made. And, the best, I love "The Hunger" the most incredibly dark and sexy movie, had a lot of class stands out in my mind ... Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie and Susan Sarandon."

HSHost says "Oh yeah."

mssusy asks "Saw your house last nite on the Home and Garden channel last night, very beautiful. Do you not decorate for Halloween?"

MistressElvira says "Oh cool. Unfortunately I'm not here on Halloween of course, always working, it's sad cause everyone int he neighborhood knows it's my house so I'm like the Grinch who stole Halloween, I'd love to! But, I'm never home. So, no sense in going out to do it. The trick or treaters can't even come here and they all wanna come to Elvira's house .. there's nothing going on here."

DouglasInDallas asks "Why hasnt there been a sequel to your hysterical movie? I thought the writing was great!"

MistressElvira says "Oh man .. yeah I know .. I was gonna ask you the same question. I'm trying! I've had sequels, sold them, gone into production .. then the studio's gotten a new head and cancelled or gone bankrupt, it's gone on and on like a nightmare .. I'm out there with my fifth script now, it's like a comedy of errors. I hope I get it made in my lifetime .. it's not like I'm sitting here doing nothing."

MistressElvira says "Oh thanks .. I have a new one out by Claypool Comics .. not sure if you can get it in England. It's here in America ... if you check out my website you can probably order them over the website. But, they're in their 3rd year nowq."

MistressElvira says "A very funny question .. yes, more times than you can count. Hannah Barbera was the first one, I've made 7-8 pilots for cartoons all of which went to the networks but were never sold to them, usually because they heard about the nude photos. It's okay that Sylvester Stallone has a porno movie out .. and all the others that have done strange and bizarre things, usually men, but when a woman has some very mild nude photos taken, that X's you out of doing animation again. A really huge thorn in my side."

MistressElvira says "Yes, a 3 year old daughter named Sadie. She's practicing to be Elvira now, dresses like her, wants to be in Elvira drag every day .. really into it this year, knows the words to all my songs! She may take over some day."

MistressElvira says "Vincent Price. To me, he's the king of the whole genre .. I saw "House on Haunted Hill" when I was 7 and I had recurring nightmares .. I adored him throughout his whole career and got to meet him. He was the most fabulous and interesting person, got to know him really well, exchanged letters, that was a real accomplishment for me. He was my idol."

Laurababy asks "Have you registered your chest with the FBI as lethal weapons?"

MistressElvira says "No, but with Lloyds of London to be insured .. I'd hate for anything to happen to them, I'd be out of a job!"

Apollonius asks "Do you spend a lot of time on the internet?"

MistressElvira says "Yeah, quite a bit. Don't have a lot of time around Halloween time, but I'm not that computer saavy, kinda like a speed bump on the information highway."But, I'm really into it."

Sid asks "Do you have any books out or Films?"

MistressElvira says "I rescued him from a Rottweiler rescue .. he needed a lot of surgery cause he was abused by the owners but he grew into the biggest best rott I've had ... and we wrote this book as a parody .. cause everyone sends me these Carl books knowing I have a Rott. So, we wrote this book about the worst Dalmatian in the world .. cause my writing partner has a Dalmatian .. he's like the poster child for Attention Deficit Disorder .. it's cute, not for children really .. not dirty, but the dog does shag a poodle and steal liquor and smoke cigarettes. "Bad Dog Andy.""

DouglasInDallas asks "At a car show I got to sit in the car you drove in your movie-- Who owns that and do you ever get to drive it anymore?"

MistressElvira says "You're not gonna believe it. I just bought it a few months ago! Someone owned it for all these years and told me they were moving and selling the macabre mobile and we got a guy who invented the batmobile and KnightRiders car renovating it top to bottom and it is SO DAMN COOL you can't believe it! I get it in two weeks and I"ve been visiting it to check on the progress. I"m really h appy to finally have it. I wanted to buy it after the movie was over but it was such a piece of junk, it didn't drive .. when it looked like I was driving it, it was really being pulled. But, now it looks totally cool."

MistressElvira says "Yeah, I am."

Laurababy asks "I've seen your trading card series, are there more planned?"

MistressElvira says "Right now we havea bout a billion of them out there. More just came out, so no plans for new ones at the moment. There are LOTS of them out .. not sure how many .. but at least hundreds of them."

satanbunny asks "i heard a rumor that there would be an elvira doll. is it true?"

MistressElvira says "Yes, in November the Elvira Action Figure which will also be available on my website elvira.com or in comic book and collectible stores .. comes with a chain saw and broom included! Gives a whole new meaning to the term "action figure.""

Sid asks "What did you think of Mel Brooks "Young Frankenstein?""

MistressElvira says "Oh I really loved it, probably the only Mel Brooks movie I did like. I love Peter Boyle."

Sid asks "Do you live in LA?"

MistressElvira says "Yes, I live in Hollywood, I've been here since I moved to California . I live in the shadow of the Hollywood sign .. I've lived in 12 different places but never moved outside of a 3 mile radius. I can't imagine being anywhere else, I lived in Brentwood for six months and moved back to Hollywood. There's no place like it, I love it here. It's like my own little village, don't feel like I live in a big city .. feel like I live in a little burg of Hollywood."

Apollonius asks "Do you play computer games? Is there an Elvira CD ROM? I still worship you...."

MistressElvira says "There is .. called The Jaws of Cerberus, don't ask me why. I don't play them, my girlfriend is always trying to get me into MYST, but I don't have time .. she's been playing for a year. It's cool, but I'm sorta too busy to get into that .. I'd love to. When I retire, I'll play those games."

Apollonius asks "Would you have liked to have been in Ed Wood?"

MistressElvira says "It's one of those things I think you'd rather watch than be in."

MistressElvira says "OH man .. there's been a zillion! There was this moive called "Pigs" a crappy movie but bizarre and funny where a bunch of pigs attack people and eat them! b"A real standout movie .. PIGS .. what a great name for a horror film. My friends like "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" but that's got to be the most popular one with my fans. My fans like it."

Jinxed asks "Have you always loved Horror or is it since Elvira that you've gotten into it?"

MistressElvira says "Always loved horror since I was a child, seeing "House on Haunted Hill" with Vincent Price, my fav TV show was the Twilight Zone, the Addams Family ... I was the only girl I knew in the 50's actually buying the models that you paint of Dracula, and Frankenstein and the Mummy .. I was the only girl collecting monster cards and pics, hanging them on my wall."

HSHost says "Your parents were okay with that?"

MistressElvira says "Oh yeah! They knew I was weird, still think I'm weird, but this was meant to happen, great gig for me!"

Apollonius asks "do you like Carry On Films?... your double entendres are very reminiscent of the genre..."

MistressElvira says "That's funny, I remember those well, I love those! You have to be over 100 years old to remember those .. when I was a VERY young child, actually a FETUS I remember seeing those films and I loved them."

MistressElvira says "Yeah, they're for sale on my website, elvira.com. They should get through customs .. they have prices there for America and the UK."

guest10240 asks "What are some of the weirdest things that happened to you as kids ?"

MistressElvira {action} chuckles"

MistressElvira says "What kind of weird things? That's a little bizarre, I was burned very badly, a lot of people don't know that. I climbed up on a stove and poured a huge kettle of boiling water on top of myself. Spent several months in the hospital having burn therapy and skin grafting .. fortunately all the scars are in the places where you don't see in the Elvira dress. I don't remember a huge part of my life when I was going through that. Over 35 % of my body was 3rd degree burns and in those days you didn't survive that, so I was very lucky."

HSHost says "Oh Gosh! At least you're okay!"

MistressElvira says "Yeah."

Sid asks "What's next for you? Do you ever appear out of costume?"

MistressElvira says "Yeah on the Home & Garden Show as Cassandra in my house and on the Stern show. But, I'll go for years without doing appearances as myself. Not much demand for it, though."

MistressElvira {action} chuckles"

MistressElvira says "It's the best thing about this really. I have celeb friends who'd give their right arm to be in my position .. I can have fame on one side and on the other I can go out and have my family with me and go grocery shopping and no one recognizes me! Occasionally one person comes up and says, "Aren't you Elvira?" But, not often, so it's great doing this."

sammythemammy asks "what is something you wish people would ask you that they never do?"

MistressElvira says "Hmmm ... wow! I think they've asked me everything! I think it's ALL been asked! I wish there was a question they haven't asked, I'd love to know one. Do you have one?"
