Yegor, now a Dark Other under the tutalage of Zavulon has been using his newfound powers against the innocent. In an attempt to cover up for Yegor, Anton and Svetlana, now a member of the Night Watch and Anton's partner in the field attempt to steal evidence of Yegor's crimes to keep him from being brought up on charges for acts in violation of the treaty. While attempting to help his estranged son, Anton seeks the Legendary Chalk of Fate, a mystical device that can rewrite history, in order to reverse the wrongs he commited against his unborn child and set things right once more. While indisposed, the Day Watch hatch a plot to frame Anton for the murder of a Dark Other and turn him over to the Inquisition. If found quilty, Zavulon will have just cause to break the age old treaty triggering a series of events that will set the great prophesy into motion plunging the world into darkness forever. Zavulon's 1000 year wait is finally at an end as he prepares for the coming of the Great Other. Yegor's 14th birthday will not only bring fourth the final battle between Light and Dark, but perhaps the destruction of Moscow itself.
This superior sequel to "Night Watch: Nochnoi Dozor" has now been officially released on DVD for English speaking audiences in two versions. The "Unrated" version is the one to buy as the theatrical release was horribly mutilated (even though it including some very fancy subtitles).Great stunts, brilliant use of CGI, and there are even one or two love stories going on amongst all the action. This is simply one of the best films that I have ever seen. Watch out for the very important drop of blood! Dr Blood's rating: 10/10  |
